So many thoughts go through a mind. A God-fearing person like me also fears the validity of these thoughts. Are any of them amounting to Blasphemy? Will any of these will derail my faith in Islamic Monotheism?
The greatness of Allah lies in the fact that He knows us people. He knows that some of us go through such torments of thought and reality. In such times one can and should seek the protection of the Lord from any ungainly thoughts that might creep into one's value system.
Many a verses in the Holy book are intended for this purpose. Asking for protection from the Whispers of the Devil is just one way of being safe.
As it is, God has given Mankind only that much knowledge to survive on Earth and its outer boundaries. When proposing some theories and matters involving faith, it is important that it is mentioend that God knows best. Better safe than sorry.
